The food was delicious and the employees were all nice. There were a TON of gnats and flies (they even had fly traps hanging), so that was gross and annoying trying to keep swatting them all away from our food. We will return because, like I said, we all enjoyed our food - just hopefully something helps to keep the pests away so we (and everyone else) doesn't have to deal with 'em again. We liked the sign saying, "This is not a fast food restaurant. We make your food fresh. Please be patient!"
We ate here around 1:30pm on a Friday. It was our first time here. I had the BYO Burger and my husband had the Mountain Man Feast. The atmosphere is very laid back. Country music playing. A stage for live music. Not very crowded at all. We were seated quickly. There appeared to only be two people working, and service was a little slow. We ordered the onion rings as a starter. They were hot and fresh. Not much of a taste to the batter but not the worst. The ribs are fabulous! Great taste and a good and simple barbecue sauce. The sausage was good as well. The first piece he got was cold, but they brought him another piece and took it off our bill. The brisket needed to have more seasoning, but it was decent. The burger needed seasoning as well, but paired with the buttered bun and condiments, it was good! I personally did not care for the chips, but the pickles are amazing! The bathroom was clean and had some really cool design. The cups were neat too. They fit in a cup holder. We would definitely come back for the ribs!
Fantastic experience! The service was great, Fried green tomato BLT was banging, drinks were awesome, my friends all had a blast and the music was on fire! What a great time. Will return! Especially if the Wax Shadows play here again!!
Oh my, what a blessing to have such a wonderful BBQ restaurant right in our area! The brisket is smoked to perfection, and the smoked sausage was exceptionally good. The "fixins" (i.e. sides) were fantastic, too. (Housemade chips are a specialty!) I can hardly wait to return to try more dishes AND enjoy another slice of their scrumptious cakes. P.S. Live band entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings between 7 and 9pm.
We stopped here on our way to Myrtle Beach and the food did not disappoint! Everything was so good! Those homemade chips Our server was very sweet! I marked the atmosphere as being loud because the night we went they had live music, but everyone was friendly. 1st photo is a pulled pork sandwich, 2nd photo is the smoked bologna sandwich, and the 3rd photo is the three pigs sandwich.
My wife and I just tried this place today. We were very impressed with everything. I had the Honky Tonk burger and she had the Jolene. The burgers were both great and we loved the chips. We also had the cheese fries with pulled pork and bacon... Excellent. Our waitress, Jocelyn I think, was awesome. We'll definitely be back
